Have you ever thought about throwing a party in the garage?

Party in the Garage

Your garage is quite possibly the only room big enough to host a large group, and it’s perfect for birthday parties, family reunions and work get-togethers! It’s also an ideal alternative in case the weather changes and you can’t use your patio.

Of course, the bigger the space the better, so a two-car garage is ideal. Here are some steps to make sure you’re garage party goes off without a hitch.

Clean-up and camouflage

You won’t be surprised to hear you should be removing larger items, like the lawnmower, bikes, snow blowers etc., you can simply place them in the garden for the day.

Then, you need to wash your floors, walls and surfaces, no-one wants to party in a dusty garage! Make sure the lighting is adequate, too!

For larger items you can’t remove, camouflage them! Cover them with bright tablecloths: this will help the garage feel bigger, and a white wall might also come in handy for projections!

Make it comfortable

You’ll need tables, chairs and decorations. You can probably borrow many plastic chairs and tables from friends and family, and if you don’t have enough you can rent some extras.

Decorate the interior and exterior of the garage with balloons, streamers, fairy lights, etc. Choose a theme and stick to it! If it’s mid-summer and bugs might pose a problem, think about adding a screen to keep them out.

Don’t forget you need space for your food and drinks, and of course, you’ll need a sound system.

Refreshments

Like we said earlier, pick a theme and stick to it! The food and drink you serve should reflect your theme. If you’re planning a big party, you might want to go with a pot-luck theme where everyone brings a dish. You can either provide the drinks or make it BYOB.

Warn your neighbors!

An outdoor party is likely to generate some noise, so think ahead and let your neighbors know there’s going to be a party happening… in fact, why not invite them?!

Don’t forget about your garage door!

If it’s past its best, maybe you should think about getting a tune-up or investing in a new garage door before the party! Contact us to discuss your needs at 515-276-3700.
